What’s New in the 2021 Toyota Camry?
Toyota has updated the Camry’s technology options for 2021. The infotainment system now comes standard with a responsive 7-inch touchscreen, and a 9-inch version is also available. Toyota offers a variety of features and apps to enhance every ride, including Amazon Alexa, a navigation system, onboard Wi-Fi, and smartphone connectivity for both Apple and Android devices. The Camry also backs up its excellent safety test scores with driver assistance features like traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.
You and your passengers can enjoy a plush cabin with generous seating space. The Camry can seat up to five people, and both rows provide cushioned support to make long rides relaxing from start to finish. When the Camry must serve as family transportation, you can fasten car seats in the back with two sets of LATCH connections. The standard upholstery and interior materials are soft and smooth, and you can customize the space with available features like wood inlays, leather upholstery and ventilated front seats. The car also hauls cargo with ease with more than 15 cubic feet of trunk space.
The Camry remains calm and balanced whether you’re cruising through your own neighborhood, heading out on the highway, or navigating winding roads. If you’re interested in a sporty experience, check out the SE and XSE models or the athletic TRD trim with specialized suspension, powerful V6 engine, and bolstered sport seats. Most 2021 Camry models are powered by a 4-cylinder engine that creates 202 to 206 horsepower depending on the trim, while a V6 is available for 301 horsepower. Gear shifting is handled by an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the car’s smooth performance is complemented by conservative gas mileage.
History of the Toyota Camry
The Camry arrived in the U.S. in 1983, debuting in sedan and hatchback body styles. While the contemporary Camry is a spacious sedan, these premier models were notably smaller in stature than their modern-day descendants, and would fit comfortably in the compact car class by current standards. This changed with a full redesign in 1992, when Toyota expanded the Camry’s frame to the midsize sedan we know today. A coupe option arrived with the new generation, and the Camry became one of the fastest-selling vehicles in the country by 2002. The car was redesigned again in 2018, and it remains at the front of its class as Toyota makes new innovations in engineering, technology, and safety.
